I can't accept that. A client of mine recently bought a dark AM and moved
it to Boston. He's done it more than once, actually, and he doesn't have
any special clout with the FCC.
Moreover, even if you can't buy a station, there are several in the area
that will sell you time. The Chinese government is buying one station's
whole broadcast day -- no, not my client's -- for English-language
propaganda. That such a thing can happen without so much as a whimper of
protest I find astonishing, but that is a topic for another discussion.
