Reminds me of the childhood story of the men sitting around in a tavern speculating on how many teeth a horse has for various logical reasons.  Then a small boy asked why not just go out to the barn and count them? Contact the TV station and ask their Chief what their setup is.  He/she might just appreciate your feedback about the reception problem, too. You could try wrapping a length of tinfoil around your twin lead and shifting up and down until the problem disappears. (;->))
