 Ha Ha, Nobody I know that designs __anything__ ever gets royalties. We work for a salary just like a full-time janitor. Anything we design is the property of the company and even if our designs are patented, the patents are assigned to the company for one (1$) dollar.
 
That said, I usually get public credit for my designs except in the case of an ex-salesman and audio-products tinkerer who took credit at McMartin. That product line was designed by VP of Engineering, Hans Bott (brought TV to Harris), Juan Gregerio (designed grounded-grid for ITA and CCA that Mr Wise took credit for), and myself.

History is re-written by the survivors.
