Well if it did not carry at least up to 5.1 audio it would not be HDMI compliant nor could you just plug in a camera. The website states it does but a no cost way to verify would be to take a cable box , DVR or satellite receiver with HDMI and plug lt in a record something. I wouldn't really say it has an analog audio input anyway. That is part of the dongle that also supports analog component video. Not really anything to do with HDMI.
