Here's one I haven't seen before.
WOIO is off the air. Sorta. Has been all morning.
Obviously, there's either "The lights are on, but no one's home."
or just no one at WOIO cares about being on the air, but that's
an internal issue.
WOIO is virtual channel 19 in the Cleveland market.
I've no idea what the real channel is anymore.
What I haven't seen before, 19.1 has a terrible signal.
No wonder it's off the air. ( since digital doesn't have
a graceful degrade, it's just gone )
BUT...
19.2 has about the best signal level I've ever seen on that secondary,
yet it too is off the air.
Now, the Zenith converter "signal" is showing who-knows-what.
RF level ? Bit Error Rate ? Some combination ? SINAD ?
Who knows, being a consumer product.
Thing is, whatever it's showing, how does 19.1 have a signal 20 out of 100
( minimum 30 to decode even pixelated crap ) yet 19.2 is 90 out of 100,
when they are normally both always about 60-70 out of 100, either and/or
both never hitting an 80 out of 100 ?
( unless it's raining, the wind is blowing, or the trees are growing when
nothing ever has a "good" signal )
