Normal steel wool will corode over time (even if in foam) and eventually
disintegrate. McMaster-Carr sells stainless steel wool of various
coarseness in various packages as well as scrubbing pads.
While I too often prefer to use the locally owned hardware store, I've not
seen stainless steel wool anywhere other than McMaster-Carr.
