James,
As Robert points out, using a delay line may be a Band-Aid approach which
will require much manual intervention if your video acquisition delay
wanders a lot. So, before you do anything else, determine what amount of
delay you require and if it is sufficiently stable. Also many post
production apps and even some video capture apps permit you to add a bit of
delay to improve lip-sync.
Black Magic Express is recording and basic editing software. It does not
encode video by itself. HD video is very I/O intensive if recorded in low
to zero compression mode. Only a very fast computer with a hard drive array
will be able to keep up. So, if your capture device can encode or transcode
your HD video into a highly compressed version you'll be able to record into
a modest computer. So, That said, what model capture card/device are you
using?
I use an older Black Magic card mostly for video and sound playback as I
directly transfer video files from camera to computer via a media card
reader or USB cable. The card provides real time HDMI HD video playback and
scaled standard definition analog video.

Now that I know your setup, a delay might not work. This is a resource
