Yes, that's exactly it.  And while we could theoretically put up another 
computer, the idea is to avoid the latency and quality loss on the 
video.  Remote-viewing a computer is typically sufficient for most 
business type tasks but rarely works well for real-time, high-quality video.

Someone else had suggested "Splashtop" as a high-quality, low-latency 
option.

After some discussions last night, it looks like we're going to try and 
work the old camera umbilicals out of our 2" conduit.  The current line 
of thinking is to cut off the connectors and then use a floor-jack to 
try and muscle the cables around the first bend one at a time, after 
which it should get easier to pull them out.  With that done, that frees 
considerable room to lay a couple CAT-5 to run CAT-5-based (but not 
Ethernet) KVM extenders.
