The biggest cost will be the Sound Exchange fees. Even for schools....
But that will vary on the number of streams and their connection
duration. I don't have the SE fee schedule for non-commercial use.
Then would come the attributable bandwidth cost if the school should
choose to absorb the outside stream internally (as opposed to using an
outside aggregator.) With that said, on-campus streaming should be
nearly zero cost since the data stays within the campus WAN. It's when
the stream enters the outside world that bandwidth consumption would
likely be metered for cost attribution.
Before it reaches that point, it's typical studios, computing hardware
and supporting infrastructure to make it happen.
