Depends.  The receivers are not as good as Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom HT, etc. 
Also the available programming software and the USB programming cables can 
be unreliable.  But for the pocket change they do the job.  You can also get 
large, higher performing battery packs that add some needed heft to them and 
provide extremely long run time.
