Grr.... everything going on at the same time.

When I get a chance I'll hang a meter on the screen connection to the IPA box, it's on an external barrier strip. If I get voltage I'll look at something else--no voltage may be a short with that internal bypass in the tube socket--especially if the voltage returns when disconnected from the tube.

I can pop the critter on long enough to get a reading without bugging the final.

If it is the tube socket--bye bye 10K.  CPI/Eimac is quoting $6K if they can find one.
