 I saw a balun once, or the charred remains, that probably had something
 like a 20-30% loss through it.

 Taken a step even further...
 *I* consider that flat wagon-wheel assemblage at the top of the 100
 foot unshielded, series insulated "matching section and support pole"
 to be the antenna.
 Therefore......

 OTOH, as an inspector, I'd consider the first input to a transmission line
 of any type after the final active amplifying device to be the transmitter
 output connection point.
