[BC] Repacking the TV band

History of the 'bowtie' TV antenna: I once read that this ant was designed
as a rhombic, and was popular on low-band TV until Messrs. Yagi and Uda
invented the 'yagi' in Japan. The yagi could be broad-banded with many
elements and was cheaper to manufacture. I'm shocked to hear the bowtie
antenna is even offered for sale, since they quit making them back in the
mid-1950s.

Heck, if we want to get carried away with retro antennas, why not design a
'turnstile' just like the low-band TVs use for transmission? Probably work
just as well for receiving as transmitting.

Powell. look at the ones that are bidirectional with bowties on both sides
of the reflector.
