Yes indeedy it was WXUR, Media! Owned by Dr. Carl McIntyre, of Christian Admiral Hotel in Cape May, NJ. I knew him, and he was actually a decent guy, albeit completely wrapped-up in conspiracies and end-of-world pre-occupation. He and the station was important in the landmark FCC Red Lion case surrounding the Fairness Doctrine. 4 towers in-line, and more spiders than you could count. I signed the station on Saturdays and worked it all day until sign-off. Live pastors, plus Radio Free Philadelphia! for the Right of that era. The brand-new and uninsured studios had burned in a suspicious fire shortly before my time, so we used the standby studio at the TX site. The air conditioner lines froze solid around 8 AM and stayed that way all day. Just one hot plate for coffee. Oh, yeah, the Prisoners Bible Broadcast for the dudes across the way who also mowed our grass around the towers. Memories of my mis-spent youth in Radio -- wouldn't trade it for the world. No groupies, though, at 'XUR.

>Was that WXUR in Media, owned by Carl McIntyre? I would enjoy seeing

>WXUR-FM's former frequency 100.3 and just moved studios from
>Conshohocken to Bala Cynwyd earlier this morning.
>Mark (CE of 100.3 in Media during the WKSZ/WPLY phase)
