[BC] AM Band Migration/FM Band Expansion

The MW AM band isn't useful for anything but AM broadcasting because of bandwidth and noise limitations. The low TV bands have the bandwidth for lots of uses, some of which have not even been disclosed yet. The migration of TV to Newton Minow's "vast wasteland" is part of a plan to decimate broadcasting as we know it. The government does not want any uncontrolled communications to the masses. Everything will eventually go through cable or fiber so that the government can switch it off and/or insert alternate "information" at will.

The lack of Part-15 regulation where power distribution systems are running equal copper and corona losses is probably part of the overall plan. This has destroyed AM and will eventually result in everyone turning in their worthless licenses.

It is a
>question of how to make it work with modern technology.

Kinda, sorta, related to this, does anyone know if there's any progress, or any news, on the proposal to migrate the AM band to Channels 5 and 6, and expand the FM band? I haven't heard anything on this subject for many months.
