I have never had cable or satellite and watch OTA. Couldn't people have used their government coupon for a digital converter box and paid $10 or $20 to buy one? We did. Actually, we bought two.
But, we had a merger some months ago where the locally-owned CBS affiliate was absorbed by another group running ABC, Fox, CW, and Univision. They had been running AccuWeather on a dot-2 but when they bought out the CBS station they shut down that transmitter and moved CBS to where AccuWeather was. Since then I have not been able to watch CBS -- when I punch that channel it jumps to the Fox channel. Their engineer said some of the Zenith boxes won't accept the new program info, said to do a double-rescan and that should work. It doesn't. And it looks like I either have to buy new converter boxes (at full price) or new TVs.
I'm spending most of my TV time now watching the PBS stations. The Red Green Show is my favorite.
