Okey-dokey.  So, before I open my text on or about pages 112-113 (thank you
for saving me the research time), I understand that fatter towers or even
wires at VHF and UHF are necessarily shorter than 234/MHz in order to
resonate, and are broader in BW=lower Q.  Yes? No?  This was our Gospel when
I worked for Celwave, and made many a ham 1/4 wave ground plane using 3/4"
copper pipe to cover the band with lower VSWR than just a simple #10 wire.
Where have I lost the Truth? 

Please spill your wisdom on the subject contrariwise.
