Night time jock at a studio located at the transmitter when a station
was DA-N. In those days that shift was the best for attracting the
ladies. There are many examples of this. The most extreme is probably
the old WNOX. While they had palatial downtown studios and a manned
transmitter, at night they broadcast from a studio at the transmitter
making it a one man show. They sort of hit the jackpot as far as FCC
rules of the day. They were 10 KW and Directional, either of the two
would have prevented remote control authorization.
