In the last two years, I saw an article in one of the microwave magazines showing the design of a <10 watt cellphone frequency Doherty amplifier !

 "Probably the design age more than the technology was the problem. Continental got out of the pure Doherty TX business when they replaced the WE designs after the WE sale and moved to straight screen modulation to 10 KW and Doherty 50 KW (and higher) add on amplifiers. ...I guess having a number of years to refine designs and newer and better technology help a lot
