I too would love to have an mp3 of it. I remember when I was a kid, we used to spend a lot of the Summers in Myrtle Beach, SC and the "Big Ape" was the loudest station on the dial. That was about 300 Miles from the Transmitter!

What year was the The Brennan WAPE 50 RD-2 Transmitter retired? I know 690 is not even close to being as strong as it once was. I remember WAPE would wipe out WZAP here in the Upstate of South Carolina on many Mornings.
