It's true. WNBC was basically the flagship for Kahn AM Stereo. When I would visit 30Rock, our old suite on the 2nd floor still had "Stereo 66" on the door. I took over from Andy upon the move to 660 and we replaced the Kahn with C-QUAM. Andy gave the components back to Leonard which I think were on loan to the station.
As far as Gary's air chain, I saved it from the dumpster. The system was replaced with a custom Gregg (Ogonowski) Labs processor. The audio meter bridge eventually landed at WTEM 570 (ex-WGMS), a then new sports station in the DC-area that I later built. Gary had put a similar system into WGMS when it was still RKO owned. That system was still intact although it was replaced with an Optimod-AM 9100B.
