Glen Kippel asks: "Does anyone have any suggestions for anti-malware and registry repair software? Preferably free?"
My go-to at the moment is SUPERAntiSpyware. Yes, the name sounds cheesy, but it has come through for me when many others won't. It has a memory-
resident piece that will supposedly catch anything it recognizes and ask what you want to do with it.
These days, any antivirus program, in order to be really effective, has to be able to recognize malware-like behavior. Sticking strictly to
previously defined malware almost guarantees vulnerability, given that some malware authors will exploit OS problems before they're patched.
