When I was at KCMO (now WHB) 810kHz Kansas City (from 1976-82) the old RCA
50F (50 kW and as long as a bus) had the ability to switch from 50Kw on 810
kHz to 10Kw on 640 kHz. The transmitter supervisor said yeah they use to
used it. Those were the days when I had a transmitter supervisor out at the
site (it was a union thing) just polishing stuff and keeping the building
looking good. Classic late 40's (1947) RCA style transmitter building.
