I just happen to sell a retrofit to all major lighting controllers which gives you 8 contact closures over fiber optic cable. The units are compact (1" x 3" x 5") and are powered by the lighting controller on the tower (11-24v, 110ma), and a wall wart in the doghouse/ATU. Available either installed in your controller or DIY.
