The policy (I don't think it was ever a formal Rule - but I could be wrong) 
to not issue call signs containing 3 consecutive identical letters in 
effect during at least part of the 1920's was dropped at some point.  WAAA 
first went on the air in 1950, so it was obviously gone by then.
