I've decided to submerge to join you.

My observation has been that engineers generally do not hate. As
close as we usually get is to hold someone in contempt for one reason
or another. We are not a hateful personality type.

It's a dude-heavy career field, and one of the ways men interact is
that we sort of hack on each other. This is especially prevalent in
the South, I've noticed. If somebody was giving you a hard time, it's
just as likely they were doing it fondly.

I would invite you to re-evaluate your notion that you're hated. It's
a mark of distinction that anybody bothered to answer you at all, and
if they gave you advice it was likely good advice, even if delivered
with a dismissive tone.

While a portion of you hate me on this "BC" List, I haven't a clue, I didn't do anything personal to you, and I am addressing the ones the have emailed me in private saying nasty things. I am a disabled man, I have had problems physically and mentally in the past five years, so I'll say this, if I said anything to upset any of you, I apologize, but I believe in God, and this is not a perfect world.
