[BC] A mad scramble for the deadline?

Here's a question for the group to chew on:

We've had a CAP-compliant unit in service for about a year. Over the
weekend, the power supply failed and because it's still under warranty,
the unit has to be returned to the factory. Factory rep assured us that
it would be back in our hands well before the end of the month.

But I'm not sure that's a big deal. We can easily document that we
purchased and placed in operation a compliant unit long before the
deadline, and of course our logs document the failure as Part 11
requires. My own opinion is that we would be in compliance on 6/30 even
if our box is still on its way home from the hospital.

Any other views?
