As our talk station is liberal talk, the same could be said for us as well
in Chicago. We are America's #1 liberal talk station and we don't shy
away from that distinction. We have listeners in Milwaukee.

We're quite proud of being the center of the counter culture. With our
local shows live on the weekends, the hosts are encouraged to include both
sides. The problem is Republicans generally are afraid to appear on the
shows. What a hoot.

Legally speaking, the Fairness Doctrine (which is what you ascribe as the
balanced view requirement) has not been enforced for some time and will
not be enforced anytime soon. It is universally despised and there are
legitimate 1st Amendment questions concerning it's enforcement. There was
talk last year of statutorily blowing it out.

With that in mind, don't expect the largely majority conservative stations
to bridge the ever widening river between the two party's fringe/radical
elements which seem to have grabbed control of the parties on both sides.

Personally, I believe a licensee's duty is to present opposing views and
encourage civil discourse in the discussion. While I agree the Fairness
Doctrine has it's flaws, the core should continue as a duty and the FCC
should create incentives to bring that to light.
