I'm curious why you feel this way.  The most successful broadcast news outlet is Fox, which makes no bones about being a shill for the Republican party.  Also, most of the syndicated radio talkshow hosts lean right, not left.  

Here in San Francisco, most of our local talkshow hosts are liberal; but this is not true over the rest of the country.
