I seem to recall Gates/Harris changed the plate connection on the FM-xK
series to a strap instead of top clamp. This method provides a greater
contact surface area. If you look at the tube when it is oriented sideways,
it looks like a transmission line. Thanks to "Doc" Dougherty at Harris for
that observation. Skin effect/surface area may be at play here.
