I just went through an issue with a 27 yr old BE FM plant that became unstable under certain combinations of drive and PA gain (scrren volts) 1/4-wave more feed line and life was stable. In this case load is 400 KHz wide BPF at 10 kW. Inband sprui, slow osc. of output but not sufficent to trip VSWR. Most times line lenght will stabilize. Checked and improve neut. to no change.

In your case is it VSWR shut down that stops run? Had one case like that and reduced sensitivy of VSWR trip and it stablized at 1.7 with a combo generator like output. I would first check neut. and see how that compares to similiar units. If it worked before socket rebuild then time to go back over details. The PA's are not tested into NB load and field conditions vary.

Are you sure transfer switch is working? Sweep load with analyzer or coupler and see how the BW looks. Post more data and more thoughts can occur.
