I was actually thinking something like a Crosman 1322, or 2240.
Both are .22 caliber, and both have the power to do the job
at close range.
I personally favor the 2240, but the 1322 would be the more
practical in most cases.
Of course, you could use a Quackenbush Outlaw, which has
enough power to hunt bear if one were so inclined.
( in .308 and .45 calibers )
I wouldn't try a BB gun on anything but maybe birds and insects.
