Monday the fellows killed another hybrid (or something else
is going on). Callers drop out, but they can hear the
talent. Older Gentner digital. Have a new Telos HX-1, but
haven't had time to figure out the remote control for it.

Last night College station I help out--went south--squeals
and pops on the air, transmitter dropping off. This is going
to be an interesting one. Marti composite STL (about 5 years
old) feeding new Continental 802B into an ECO 6.

This morning there's a dead carrier, leading me to suspect
the STL. Their old 505C system on the shelf, but I knew it
was still good, having recapped it to replace wire feed to
their 10 watt station. Fire up the 505 transmitter, it's
happy. Get up to the site, mod display of the Continental
"pinned," Marti composite receiver on, but weird meter
readings--mod display full scale, not moving. Pull the Marti
receiver, mount the 505C receiver, it shows modulation.
Still nothing into the Continental. Luckily I have an
Armstrong exciter at my stations I can bring up, will get
them back on this afternoon.

Best guess at this time is the Marti had a catastrophic
failure, fried an output IC and dumped 15 volts on the
composite feed to the 802B. Which in turn took out the
LF347. Which I don't have. have to go to a meeting, but at
least I have enough back-ups to get them going while I
figure out this mess.

Now, back to the hybrid later tonight, once the live shift
ends at 7.
