The KNRY site moved a long time ago to the beach site.  Since some time in the 60's.  There was a little trouble with the antenna a while back, some modernization had taken place with the tower foundation and the antenna could not be tuned up.  We found the thru bolts on the anchor insulators were covered with concrete and wet sand.  removed the sand and refilled the considerable divots with epoxy casting resin.  Remeasured the antenna with a bridge and an AIM 120 with both devices in complete agreement.  Station used to be KMBY and was owned for a brief period by Bing Crosby.  Studio across the street in the Bear Flag Building, a former house of ill repute!  Many small rooms!
 
KDON was rebuilt by yours truly in a planned diplex with KCTY about 10 years ago and is still on the same frequency, but nothing will ever equal the former two tower site at palm beach.  Had to be vacated because it ended up being in a State park.
