[BC] Ground system

As I recall, the problem one was trying to resolve was theft of a ground system. Ground systems for single-stick radiators can be replaced with little-or-no degradation in performance with an elevated system which the FCC has approved in the past. The only initial cost is the filing for a construction permit for the modification. You already know it will work a least as well as your present system and, in the likely event that it is approved by the FCC, you can then decide if the cost of the 4-wire overhead is worthwhile as a theft-prevention device. Furthermore, if your site is insurred, a talk with the adjuster after a theft may reduce your out-of-pocket expenses quite a bit. Plowing in 120 new copper radials is certainly more expensive than installing 4 utility poles for the radial ends and installing the same kind od Aluminum clad steel wire that the utility companies use for around-the-town power distribution as well as the grid lines http://www.aflglobal.com/Products/Aluminum-Clad-Steel.aspx
