Then Collins 310Z-1, Collins 310Z-2 and Continental 510-RR Fm Exciter are in the same type cabinet and are rated at 20 Watts of output power.
NOTE: The are NOT FCC Type Accepted or Type Notified for use as a 20 Watt transmitter alone. For that purpose the transmitter has a different FCC Type Number and includes an external Harmonic filter to be placed on the back of the unit. Continental not longer stocks these units. The harmonic filter used in the Model 802-A or 802-B exciter should be acceptable but would require measurements to be made, as discussed in this forum.

>Keeping in mind that, as mentioned by Dana, certification requirements are different for part 74 vs 73... we discovered with the VS series that a transmitter that is type notified and approved for broadcast use can NOT be used for licensed LPFM stations - it does require an entirely different approval process. In our particular situation, power line filtering requirements were significantly different between the two; necessitating physical changes to the box. You need to have the part 74 sticker on the back if you're going to use it for an LPFM.
