[BC] Collins exciter

Ever seen one of those exciters self destruct?  I got a call one cold dark snowy morning.  'We are off and nothing comes up".  Get to the site...as I am walking across the floor of the transmitter room, I feel something crunchy under foot.  Get to the center rack, where the exciter chassis remained.  There was a pile of incinerated parts on the floor in front and back.  What I had been stepping on was the parts of the exploded view of a fan.  As far as I can figure, the fan died a horrid death and the exciter over heated, self-inflamed and thank god self-extinguished.  Replaced with another make and model over night but it was a long day and night until then!
