I recently installed a Wheatstone E-1 system and a version 4 Mediatouch system at a station. AOIP on all the machines. No sound cards, good riddance. Used a Wheatstone blade as a source switcher. Goodbye Broadcast Tools Switchers, although they have given sterling service.

Also removed a ton of punch blocks, 25 pair cable, distribution amplifiers etc. Can use Wheatnet and Logmein to troubleshoot and reconfigure the system if necessary.

One of the neat things about the blades is that you can easily adjust levels on the computer screen using the setup sliders. No more building pads, adjusting pots,, etc.

Saved a huge amount in labor costs.

>This is one reason we decided to go with AoIP in our new operation. The sound card issue is rendered moot and the drivers have been tested with the automation system in a controlled lab. better than any typical sound card we tried....MM~_________________________________________________________________~If you have not subscribed to the one-time-a-week BDR Newsletter, you are missing some good material.
