My several year old HP ZV6000 laptop continues to work great. I installed
Fedora on it the day I brought it home from the store. After a few years
the hinges for the lid broke. I got replacements online for $10 or $20. I
haven't had to deal with their customer support, so I can't comment on it.
I also have an HP 2570 scanner/printer on the network. It works great
using the HPLIP library. My wife can also talk to it from her Mac.
A few years ago (1972), I took my brand new HP35 calculator to my AM site
to calculate power by the direct method. One row of keys stopped working
(the row with the enter key). I sent it back to HP. They fixed it, but it
broke again. The second time they fixed it and it stayed fixed. I still
have the calculator, but it needs a new battery...
