The solution is simple in concept, but near impossible to enact --
IGNORE IT.
If everyone who receives spam ignored it without responding, the
incentive for the spammers would go away quickly. It's just like junk
mail, they work on percentages. One tenth of one percent reply rate
doesn't seem like much until you send out several hundred thousand. Now
you have a significant number. There's always someone out there who
bites on this stuff.
However, as I said, if EVERYONE ignores it, pretty soon there would be
no incentive for doing it.
