Speaking of which -
I found that replacement mailbox locks work best to replace the front
panel lock on an Optimod. Cabinet locks don't work as well; they're
expecting that 1/8" thick wooden panel, not 16 ga. steel; whereas the
mailbox locks are intended for metal plate mounting.
the ones at Lowes also come with your choice of straight or angled
tongue to use with different thicknesses of metal plate so you get a
snug fit.
