Which actually was a very good idea until the first college football game at
KCOL AM in Ft Collins, Optimode went nuts and boosted the line noise so high
the game was  unintelligible on the air. Of couse the CE was out of town so
in desperation I picked the dang lock and flipped the unit off...signal was
great at that point. Just then the CE came running in asking what the hell I
was doing, that was restricted, I could be fired etc etc. I pointed out I'd
be fired right after he was for costing the station the revenues from a sold
out game. Thats when the boss came runnng in, assesed the situation, and had
the CE issue me a key to the unit. I found later in my career GM's were
worse than jocks at fiddling with the Optimod.
