Hello All:

h OfficeJet 7000 is playing nice now with the Win XP laptops and the Win 2000 laptops; finally.

The fix was to do a registry hack to delete the bad errant OfficeJet 7000 install icons. Then rebooted the computer. Then I was able to create a TCP/IP port for the network printer, and finish the install without any errors.

As a result of this fun, some good came out of it. Indications that one win2000 and one win XP machine were short on memory, so that's fixed now.

One of the Win XP machines had a pirate version of XP, so that machine could not take any more service packs, etc. So I blew that O/S up, and installed a proper one, complete with SP3. So that was wothwhile.

I still have much dislike for HP and their over the lake customer support. I will not be buying any more HP products, It took four days to get this printer fully functional. That's unacceptable.

HP is still on my black list as a result of this ordeal. No excuse for this kind ot techsuport
