The statement is correct as far as it goes. The fact is
the deterioration is so rapid that it makes aluminum
useless. Now, if you want to put in a new ground system
every year .....

But seriously, you might give some thought to an elevated
ground system. You can use aluminum (steel reinforced like
on utility lines) for that. It is only 4 wires and 8 short
utility poles to hold the wires 9 deg above ground.
