It's all subjective. I have not actually listened to WGN for two or three weeks, so maybe something has changed for the worst since then.
I probably should not have used the "artifacts" comment. I'm very sensitive to compression and all those things that normal functioning processors do to the signal. The Chicago processing is all working, but for me personally, it sounds too heavy handed.
If it's any consolation, there are very few stations that I can listen to for extended periods (beyond about 15 minutes). I'm beyond the desired age demographic, so I doubt anyone cares. That's OK.
