I think that any of these can produce a listenable signal on a modern FM
tuner. Today, the problem is generally not of signal stregnth, but rather of
interference from other signals.
With 2 exceptions, FMs are not protected from interference outside their 60
dbu contours. Class Bs are protected to their 54 dbu contours and class B1s
are protected to their 57 dbu contours.

Hello All,

Speaking of reception, has anyone done a study of what Dbu relates to
reception? I mean is 60dbu good enough to penetrate the average home? How
about 50Dbu? Is 40dbu too weak for inside the home without an amplified
antenna? I am speaking ONLY of FM.
