If you happen to have a Dell machine, you can get a Dell Reinstall CD.  Run 
that, phone is the code it gives you, and get a new number.  (I got my last 
one about a year ago... maybe they'll quit that too...)

  No... Dell discs don't work on other machines. They tell you you aren't 
speaking Dell... and quit in disgust with some words about "all that is 
Shiva" "cow dung"... "prevaricating" and all that...
