Way back when, WISH was an AM (1310) station.
When the owners wanted to add FM (107.9) and TV (8), they erected a
~1000-foot tower in the EXACT centerpoint of their two-tower DA-N array.
it was so precisely located that it didn't need detuned at all... but
the FCC said it had to be monitored anyway.
WISH is still TV (well DT, and on RF 9); the AM has gone through at
least four owners since (now a Radio One station), the FM has had three
- plus a 20-year dark period...
the tall stick, and the north tower of the original array, still stand.
1310 was moved clear across town when the AM/FM/TV broke up; the FM
stayed on the TV tower until it went dark; the resurrection was to a new
facility in the then-new Northwest Antenna Farm Area.
WISH-DT also has a new tower out there; so I don't know how much longer
the old east-side facility will be around.
