 No, they didn't.
 The cars are required to conform to what needs measured, tracked,
 and reported, but they did not require the same software.
 ( rumor is that GMC regrets inventing OBD2 ever since )

 Like most things, OBD2 was a good idea, until the govt. got involved.
 Much the same could be said for/about EAS.
