Would iron be as effective as a copper screen surrounding the 
country? It sure would make the roof much lighter. It seems an iron 
roof would be awfully heavy and do a job on sunlight. The other 
downside would be copper theft. Since the screen would prevent anyone 
from getting in or out, the INS could patrol for copper thieves. We 
could put a door leading to Toronto for people who still need to fly 
somewhere. After about a year the fence would become unsightly 
because of the millions of patches installed. What used to be illegal 
immigrants would make a better living selling the copper. It would 
also create tens of thousands of jobs.

Having programmed what used to be considered a border blaster (XTRA), 
not because of extreme power but because it was aimed at Los Angeles 
from Mexico, Even with 50kW it still blasted. I received it clearly 
in Salt Lake City. I'd hate to see the fence happen. It was one of 
the most interesting jobs I've had.
